Marking the charger cords. Why didn’t I think of that!

One thing I overlook is updating the condition ( moisture, torn wrapping, expiration date, etc.) of my first aid kit.

I’ll schedule that every six months along with other similar tasks.

That's an essential tip. Thank you for sharing, Steve.

About the food topic while traveling: for early flights I like to pack breakfast, usually overnight oats. For afternoons, I pack a lunch. At the very least I bring snacks.

This helps me avoid airport food.

Great hacks, Teddy. Saves time (no lines), money, and your health.

Great advice, Jesse. I'd add to consider getting a duffle bag with backpack straps and making that your carry-on. This makes you more mobile in the airport and at your destination, avoids some extra scrutiny when overhead bin space is running low on planes (rollers are the first to get gate checked), plus lets you sneak a little extra exercise in by carrying some weight on your back. The Patagonia Black Hole is the classic, but almost every major outdoor brand makes a version now (I'm particularly partial to the YETI Panga version -- not only is it waterproof, but if you zip it up all the way with some air in it, it doubles as a stool or cushion for when you're waiting around).

Great additions, Lou; you're speaking my language with these tips!

Mobility, functional exercise, and getting bin space are critical to my travel.

Just looking at the Panga now... that's a pretty functional piece of gear. The waterproof (not just water "resistance") element is a plus.

Mine gets a ton of use and — as cliched a term as it is — is about as bulletproof as you can get. Uncharted makes a version of the same bag which is a little bigger and a little cheaper.

This is my sworn type of travel bag too. That flexibility you mentioned is my favorite part. My big bag is a 70L Thule Chasm. It technically exceeds carryon size for most airlines, but because it's not a bulky roller I've never had to check it.

Also, one thing I don't travel without is a power bank. I use the Omnicharge 20+, and my favorite thing about it is the variety of charging ports. I never have to worry about finding wall outlets for a three prong charger.

The Omnicharge looks sweet. I have an inexpensive Misso charger that’s about the size of a credit card; no 3-prong on that though.
